My oldest son had to collect as many bottle caps as possible for a school project and ended up not using them all so, instead of throwing them away, I decided to upcycle them into a learning game for my 3 year old.
I wrote both capital and lowercase letters on the bottle tops, separated them on my little one's lap table and stepped back. He immediately began to match the big letters with the small letters and created the letter match game.
There are many ways to extend the use of these bottle caps. In the future, I'd like to try spelling games, letter grab bags and letter memory (flip the caps upside down and take turns flipping them over to match the capital with the lowercase letters). What other activities can you come up with using the bottle cap letters?
